Adventure!

Today Nicole and I wanted to get out of the house for a while. Basically we got tired of seeing our boring ol' walls. We couldn't really think of anything to do, so we went to our old standby... the bookstore. Usually we go to Barnes & Noble to browse around, but this time we wanted to head out and see something a little different. We went to a second hand book store called Bookman's.

If you've never been to Bookman's, its really fun but also slightly overwhelming. It's a giant bookstore stacked to the sky with old used books and other random goodies. They've got records, VHS tapes, and even crusty old magazines. I'll give you a hint at what their biggest isles are...

I'll give you a hint. It's romance novels and sci-fi paperbacks. They literally have thousands of them. I guess the store is visited by pale faced nerds and lonely women? The crowd there is a little odd. It's odd because it consists of hipsters, stoners, and whatever kinds of people meander of the streets. Its a little fun and weird too.

Still we had a lot of fun looking around and trying to find some books that we thought we might like. I think that is half of the fun. You never really know what they will have, so each time you go its like a little treasure hunt. Plus, it doesn't help that  they constantly rearrange the store to make room for other random stuff.

You should give it a try! Adventure!

  1. I used to go to Bookmans in Tucson. The only thing I've found close out here actually does Bookmans one better. There is a brown "house" that literally has a big sign reading Old Books. It's packed to the gills with old books. Pretty awesome...there is pretty much no room for turning around, but its cool. Still a LOT of paperback romance novels...sheesh.
